Overview: Employee Relations is responsible for providing information and instruction to employees, supervisors, appointing authorities, and the general public regarding the Rules and Regulations under which the Merit System of Jefferson County operates. The department is responsible for processing grievances, disciplinary appeals, paid injury leave appeals, citizen’s complaints, and for reviewing administrative leaves, military leaves, requests for personal or medical leaves of absence, and requests for fitness of duty examinations.
