Notice of Election
TO ALL EMPLOYEES OCCUPYING POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICES OF THE CITIES OF:
A law (No. 248, H 580) enacted by the Legislature of Alabama Regular Session 1945, approved by the Governor on July 6, 1945, and amended by Act No. 97, 1956; Act No. 476, 1957; Act No. 591, 1967; and Act No. 684 of the 1977 Legislature, provides that the occupant of a position in the Classified Service of one of the above municipalities shall be elected each year to serve as a member of the Citizens Supervisory Commission. Said member is to be elected by the Classified Employees of all the above municipalities. The one-year term will commence on November 1, 2024 and end on October 31, 2025. There are two meetings a year, the third Tuesday in November and May, at noon, and special meetings as scheduled
Pursuant to the requirements of said Act, notice is hereby given that nominations will be received on:
Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
(If needed-CSC Election Day will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024)
in the Jefferson County Probate Court Election Office, 1st Floor, Room 140, Jefferson County Courthouse located at 716 Richard Arrington, Jr. Blvd. N., Birmingham, Alabama 35203, for the purpose of receiving nominees to fill the membership in the Citizens Supervisory Commission. All Classified Employees of Jefferson County, including the employees of the Jefferson County Department of Health and Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency, are eligible to participate in the nominations.
